exceptional and visually distinctive original early 20th century single-sided illuminated wall-mount exit sign designed and fabricated by the federal electric company, chicago, il. the ruby red glass exit light was salvaged from a chicago public school gymnasium several years ago when electrical signage was upgraded. the thick rectangular-shaped inset contains etched glass lettering . the brilliantly colored ruby red "flash" glass remains in great condition. the inset is protected by a remarkably heavy duty cast bronze cage that doubles as the mounting frame. one of the more unusual vintage or antique signs we have acquired. the light source was likely left in the wall. priced for the inset and protective cage.
