portable early 20th century american medical three-legged hospital surgeon stool designed and fabricated by william v. willis & co., philadelphia, pa. the unusually tall stool with tripod base configuration is comprised of pressed and folded steel and iron with a uniform brushed metal finish. the solid threaded steel spindle is tightly affixed to the underside of the revolving seat. the bent legs are welded against a centrally located ring providing additional support and stability.
