unique c. 1930's american industrial angled steel factory stool designed and fabricated by the angle steel stool company, plainwell, mi. the diminutive angled steel stool is comprised of multiple stretchers or braces with riveted joints. the steel base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the pine wood seat was likely added at a later time. the backrest is very plain, with a single slat and top rail. the robust stationary chair or stool is of sound and sturdy construction. the angle steel stool company was founded in 1910 by charles pipp and john linsey. originally located in otsego, mi., the owners chose to move their busniess to plainwell, mich., in 1922. the industrial furniture fabricator operated well into the 20th century. measures approximately 15 x 15 x 20 1/2 inches.
