original early 20th century american industrial heavy duty cast iron factory machine base possibly fabricated by the d.e. whiton machine co., new london, ct. only one available. removed from a tool & die factory located in chicago. unique profile featuring an elongated rounded-edge opening exposing a hollow cavity. the flared or outswept feet provide added support and stability. refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. measures 20 1/2 inches in height.
