late 19th century original and intact antique american victorian era ornamental cast iron interior residential wall-mount fireplace match holder designed and fabricated by the edward f. caldwell company, new york city, ny. the diminutive single compartment match holder contains a mostly uniform brushed metal finish. the protruding holder features slightly raised foliated scrollwork and surrounding filigree with mounting hole above. approximately 4" x 4".
