unique vintage industrial brushed metal retort stand manufactured by the fisher scientific co., pittsburgh, pa. features a petite cast iron ring clamp fabricated by the chicago apparatus co., chicago, il. the vintage three-legged laboratory benchtop stand supports a massive 1500 watt "verd-a-ray" light bulb (12 inches in height) with mogul base. the industrial incandescent light bulb was manufactured by the verd-a-ray corp., toledo, oh. these high wattage light bulbs were frequently found in world war ii-era war plants throughout the country. "scientific studies" showed a remarkable decrease in headaches and accidents, with higher productivity - all under the glow of the comfortable "pastel greenish" white light. asking price includes the exact setup as shown.
