set of original 19th century american aesthetic style "rice" pattern cast bronze swinging door push plates designed and fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the matching solid bronze backplates are "new old stock" with largely intact surface patina throughout. the patented design is highly sought after. priced for the pair. the oversized backplates were salvaged from a non-extant chicago mansion built in 1889.
