late 19th or early 20th century antique american ornamental cast bronze "vassar" door hinge designed and fabricated by the reading hardware company, reading, pa. the heavy unornamented solid bronze hinge has been refinished and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the integrated knuckles on each leaf are free from excessive wear and tear. the solid steel loose pin with ball-shaped finial is free from bending, gouge marks, etc. matching hinges were salvaged from a chicago mansion demolished long ago. multiple "vassar" style hinges available. the hinge measures 5 x 7 inches with finials
