all original 19th century antique american interior residential ornamental cast brass surface mount latch possibly designed and fabricated by the sargent hardware company, new haven, ct. the diminutive latch was salvaged from a kitchen pantry cabinet. the catch is original and in good shape. the spring-loaded knob or handle moves with ease. the latch bolt is in great working condition with little surface wear. the latch and catch contain pre-drilled holes for mounting flush against cabinet doors. only one available.
