original and amazingly intact 19th century antique american victorian era interior residential salvaged chicago room divider column capital comprised of oak wood with gesso or "plastic" ornament. the capital was fabricated by the decorators' supply company, chicago, ills. the stripped column capital is four-sided with elegant volutes, anthemions, and egg & dart border. the exceptionally well-executed capital remains in great overall condition, considering age.
