c. 1848-1852 original antique american pontiled aqua soda bottle with applied tapered lip, manufactured in st. louis, mo. the front of the body is embossed "superior / sodawater / st. louis" with casewear down the center. the applied tapered collar is crudely asymmetrical, with slop, whittling, and a long vertical bubble stretching from the finish down the neck. the body features allover seeding and bubbles. the base has a deep rounded kickup from manufacture with iron pontil. the bottle has been tumbled and is clean and intact. bottled for timmermann & company.
