single original and intact c. 1950's fully functional electric light wall-mount "explosion proof" sconce designed and fabricated by the appleton electric company, chicago, il. the unilet was salvaged from the notable chicago a. finkl foundry complex undergoing demolition. the single sconce retains the original impact-resistant threaded end ruby red glass jar or globe surrounded by a detachable cage. the single porcelain or ceramic socket is fully functional. the unilet socket housing contains multiple threaded openings for mounting with steel pipe in several various configurations. the threaded plugs used to seal off the unused openings remain intact. great overall condition.
