set of 19th century salvaged chicago victorian era residential fireplace tiles with featuring intricate leafage and full-winged birds. the richly colored 6 x 6 residential fireplace tiles were designed and fabricated by the beaver falls art tile company, beaver falls, pa. the company was founded by francis w. walker in 1886. prior to opening his company he had been appointed special commissioner on ceramics at the paris exposition in 1878. the tiles are free from cracks or breaks. priced for the lot.
