two original and intact c. 1870's american high victorian residential door hinge leaf cover plates designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the flush mount plates were originally attached to the leaves of a loose pin hinge. the decorative plates were designed to conceal the numerous wood screw holes needed to support a typical oversized victorian mansion passage door. lightly raised intricate detailing with neogrec border. measure approximately 4 1/4 x 2 inches. priced for the pair.
