group of four matching original antique american ornamental cast iron interior residential doorknob backplates containing a uniform brushed metal finish treated with a clear coat lacquer. the passage door escutcheons contain volutes located nearly the screw holes. the backplates likely were fabricated around 1900. the exact hardware manufacturer is not known. measure approximately 8 x 2 1/2 inches. priced for the lot.
