hard to find multi-purpose robust heavy gauge pressed and folded steel stationary single unit compartmentalized mail sorter salvaged from the old chicago "main" post office building constructed in 1921 with graham, anderson, probst & white as architects. the freestanding sorting cabinet consists of two sections, with a low-lying table or base supporting a step back multi-compartment "cubby hole" cabinet with stationary horizontal and vertical metal dividers. the table base contains two identical pressed and folded steel undershelves for additional storage. the square-shaped tubular legs are structurally sound and sturdy. the combination storage cabinet was designed and fabricated by terrell's equipment company, grand rapids, mi. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures approximately 24 1/2 x 15 x 70 1/2 inches.
