unique early 20th century antique american industrial cast iron diminutive stationary weighted cast iron base with a brushed bare metal finish. the pedestal type cast iron stand was deigned and fabricated by the chicago hardware foundry, chicago, ills. the brushed metal low-lying stand contains a newly added solid oak wood box or open-ended compartment with a uniform stained finish. the oak wood box can easily be removed and replaced with some other top suitable to one's needs. the repurposed american industrial furniture piece is in excellent condition, considering age.
