late 19th century original american antique industrial four-legged "dietzgen" solid oak wood drafting or draftsman stool. the four-legged base with flared feet contains wood and steel rod cross-bracing for support and stability. the revolving seat is comprised of oak with a pine wood central inset. the original rattan wicker was removed long ago. the solid steel threaded post or spindle moves freely. the stool was designed and fabricated by the eugene dietzgen co., chicago, il. measures approximately 19 1/2 x 36 inches with a seat diameter of 14 inches.
