highly desirable original early 20th century american vintage industrial draftsman table base salvaged from an chicago factory building office. the heavily reinforced cast iron tripod stationary base features fanciful cabriole style legs. the heavy gauge iron sliding spindle or telescoping support member and drafting board were removed long ago. the fanciful faucet style cast iron handle is original and intact. the weighted stationary tripod base has been brushed down to bare metal and treated with a clear coat lacquer. likely fabricated by the eugene dietzgen co., principal factory, chicago, il. measures 22 1/2 inches tall.
