heavy duty three-legged adjustable height hospital examination room stand designed and built specifically for use with supporting columns for x-ray tube placement. the stand and tubing were fabricated by the wappler electric company, new york. the versatile x-ray stand was patented by frederick tichy of astoria, ny. the three-legged cast iron base retains the original oversized bassick caster wheels. the pulley system and adjustment dials or knobs are original to the stand. salvaged from an old medical center outside of chicago. likely fabricated around 1925.
