original c. 1940's american vintage "swivelier" industrial office desk or table lamp designed and fabricated by the swivelier company, new york city, ny. the single electric light fixture contains a unique machine age "stepped" socket housing with intact pivot joint. the bent tubular metal arm is supported by a weighted some-shaped base containing incised rings and an on/off toggle switch. the incandescent light fixture contains a deep bowl shade or reflector comprised of spun aluminum. the brushed metal table lamp has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer.
