exceptional american machine age brushed metal multi-drawer medical supply cabinet salvaged from an old doctor's office located on the south side of chicago. the cold-rolled furniture sheet steel cabinet originally contained a faux wood grain enameled finish. the single cabinet door and multiple pull-out drawers are original and intact. the streamlined style cabinet retains the original butterscotch bakelite handles accentuated with thin metal bands. interestingly, the base is comprised of bent wood with intact black paint finish. fabricated around 1929 by the simmons mfg. co., kenosha, wi. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures 39 x 19 x 45 inches.
