exceptional all original early 1920's antique american industrial pressed and folded riveted joint rolled iron freestanding locker designed and fabricated by the lyon metallic mfg. co., aurora, ills. the rare early 20th century locker is self-contained and/or finished on both ends. the right side features a large hinged door used as a wardrobe "closet" for industrial uniforms, etc. the overhead compartment would hold small belongings. the left side contains a bank of six matching lockable units. the doors are outfitted with oversized pulls, louvered vents and spring-loaded hinges. the chrome-plated brass number plaques with numbers and/or letters are original and uniquely designed. the original army or olive green baked enameled finish remains largely intact. the locker was salvaged salvaged from the basement of the continental bank building located in the "lasalle street canyon." measures 36 x 20 x 78 inches.
