single early 20th century freestanding antique american medical upright chicago hospital operating theater supply and/or instrument cabinet designed and fabricated by the the j.f. hartz company, cleveland, oh. the completely refinished medical cabinet retains the original riveted joint brass plaques consisting of the manufacturer tag and inventory number. both diminutive plaques are lightly incised with the lettering accentuated with black enameled inlay. the cabinet contains a lockable hinged front door with flanking glass sidelights. the cabinet interior has two glass shelves supported by steel brackets. the cold-rolled iron cabinet has a total of three drawers, with the largest one concealed behind the bottom cabinet door. the original drawer pulls are intact. the medical cabinet has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. great overall condition. the cast iron cabriole style legs are original and tightly affixed to the cabinet. measures 20 x 16 1/4 x 60 inches.
