hard to find antique c.1880's-1890's hand blown amber pony style beer bottle manufactured for star brewery in chicago, il. the squat body and high shoulders taper into a short neck and rounded collar or blobtop finish. the front body is embossed "star brewery / of / chicago" with little casewear. crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacture, including bubbles and whittling. the bottle is intact, with no major breakage or chipping. salvaged from a chicago area demolition, on the grounds of a nineteenth century night scavenger dumpsite.
