rare 1887 hardware catalog ‘volume VII’ published for russell & erwin mfg. co, new york. this heavily illustrated catalog was published by the case, lockwood & brainard co. print, of hartford, connecticut. the grained leather cover features deeply embossed ornamental bands and a gold lettered title. it contains a comprehensive index, and each page features the company’s ornate monogram incorporated into the border design. Over 1000 pages of detailed lithographs render hardware and tools with crisp line work, and describe many highly collectible items. the catalog is in fragile condition, with the cover detached and a missing back cover. additionally the last five pages are lost. the spine is worn, exposing smyth sewn stitched lining. measures 10 ¼ x 12 ½ inches.
