rare 1870s ornamental copper-plated greek or roman soldier figural doorknob with distinctive footed shank

early 1870's original antique american ornamental cast bronze figural "greek head" doorknob designed and fabricated by the mallory wheeler co., new haven, ct. the profile doorknob features a highly detailed solider with decorative helmet and chinstrap. the doorknob contains a footed shank, knurled rim and greek key border. nicely aged surface patina left untouched.
