set of original and well-maintained 19th century ornamental cast iron american fireplace mantle keystones with a centrally located majolica-glazed profile or portrait tiles. the 1880's victorian era keystones retain the original hand painted faux marble finish with gold-leaf pinstriping. the unsigned figural glazed ceramic tiles are affixed to the backsides with mortar. the mantel keystones were designed and fabricated in part by wm. l. perkins & co., cincinnati, oh. priced for the pair.
