rare early 20th century ornamental cast iron custom-designed salvaged chicago exterior jackson's express and van company "fireproof" warehouse emblematic shields featuring transistion from horse to automobile. the shields feature the company's arrow logo and letter "j" for jackson. the extant six-story storage warehouse was designed anf built in 1920 by george s. kingsley, perhaps best known for the egyptian revival reebie storage warehouse located on clark street. the cast iron plaques have been lightly cleaned. priced for the pair.
