all original and intact late 19th century solid white oak salvaged chicago fireplace mantel designed and fabricated by the c.j.l. meyer & sons company, chicago, ills. the oversized mantel is comprised of white oak with original varnished finish. newer latex paint found along edges from careless painting. the firebox is exceptionally large. the back retains the original heave cardstock instructions and fabricator's name, along with hand-painted name and address where the mantel was to be delivered and installed. 10x60x54 and 39.5x41.5 inside
