fully functional c. 1885 american ornamental cast iron oversized "persian" pattern wall-mount interior residential grate or register designed and fabricated by the tuttle & bailey manufacturing co., new york city, new york. the glide movement grate was salvaged from the extant david c. cook mansion, located in elgin, il. the detachable grate cover provides easy access to the adjustable louvers found within the register box. uniform black enameled finish. excellent overall condition, considering age. measures approximately 28 x 18 inches.
