single early 20th century original and intact american antique industrial heavily reinforced low-lying four-legged angled steel and/or iron grindstone machine base likely designed and fabricated by the millers falls co., millers falls, mass. the refinished bare metal machine base has been brushed, sanded and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the cradle that contained the circular stone has been removed. the industrial with all-riveted joints contains extensive cross-bracing throughout. the base remains structurally sound and sturdy. the angled and horizontal stretchers are tightly affixed to the opposed bases with outswept feet. measures 30 x 19 x 27 1/2 inches.
