one of several matching all original and intact interior antique american square-shaped schlitz saloon or tavern ceiling rosette tiles designed and manufactured by the milwaukee corrugating company, milwaukee, wisc. the deeply embossed diminutive stamped tin or steel tiles were salvaged from a chicago corner building that was originally built for a schlitz saloon, with the proprietor and/or keeper living above. the late 19th or early 20th century building still retained the original terra cotta globe logo embedded in the brick, but was badly damaged from neglect and vandals. remarkably, the tin ceiling was found to be in nearly pristine condition under two false ceilings. the floriated tiles retain the original metallic gold finish that worn aged nicely over time. the tiles are both compact and lightweight. the bulk of the salvaged tiles are being sold individually. enter the number desired under quantity when ordering.
