c. 1890's original antique american victorian era interior residential fireplace gas grate surround possibly fabricated by the peerless mfg., co., louisville, ky. the decorative surround contains a mostly uniform metallic enameled finish. the three interlocking components are comprised of cast iron. the surround is adorned with lightly embossed anthemions and floriated swag design motifs. measures 24 1/2 x 30 inches.
