exceptional 19th century freestanding salvaged chicago gold enameled cast iron residential fireplace insert designed and fabricated by the dawson brothers, chicago, ills. the dawson gas insert retains the original 3-section grille or screen. the protruding hood and surrounding frame are in great overall condition. the gas insert was salvaged from a chicago three-flat residence built in the 1890's. the original copper-plated finish remains under the gold paint finish. two matching inserts available. priced individually.
