very unique late 1940's american chicago area theater exterior marquee "double feature" sign attributed to the white city sign company, chicago, il. the reinforced single-sided cast aluminum marquee sign consists of a single unit with integrated or interconnected letters with raised edges for added dimension. the sign plaque contains two hangers on the backside that would mount to a track running horizontally along the marquee. the unusual paint finish appears to be older - not original - with a crazed finish. the combination letter sign is free from breaks or cracks. measures 22 1/4 x 1/2 x 8 3/4 inches.
