one of two matching original 19th century antique american victorian era black enameled cast iron freestanding exterior residential newel post designed and fabricated by the dearborn foundry company, chicago, il. the oversized cast iron newel post features chamfered edges, decorative rosettes and a pyramidal-shaped finial. the weathered surface paint is consistent with age. two matching newel posts are available. salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition. priced individually. measures 34 inches high.
