all original and intact explosion and/or vapor-proof ceiling fixture salvaged from the original south side chicago wrigley chewing gum factory, chicago, ills. the single oversized and heavily reinforced industrial fixture was designed and fabricated by the appleton electric company, chicago, il. the fixture retains the original impact-resistant threaded end clear glass bulbous globe or "jar" and cast aluminum cage used to secure or protect the single incandescent light bulb. the tapered conduit body and socket housing are made of heavy aluminum. the weather-resistant ceramic socket is original and intact. the large bowl-shaped reflector contains a green porcelain enameled finish over cold-rolled steel.
