late 19th century original and intact quartered oak fireplace mantel salvaged from a chicago two-flat building undergoing demolition. the quartered oak mantel was designed and fabricated by chas. f. lorenzen & co., chicago, ills. the fireplace mantel contains a single coat of paint, but the quartered oak finish can easily be exposed with the use of stripper. the original beveled edge mirror is intact. the mantel is structurally sound and stable. 12 X 62 X 80
