completely intact early american vintage industrial copper enameled "lyhne" portable desk or table lamp manufactured by the beers sales co., bridgeport, ct. originally designed and patented by anker s. lyhne in 1911. the c. 1911-17 portable lamp contains a weighted cast iron base with deeply embossed underside lettering. the rotating arm joint retains the original dial handle. features a folded wrought steel rolled rim parabola-shaped reflector with unique rotating light "guard" comprised of folded and pressed steel. the bryant push button socket has been rewired with period appropriate braided white cotton cloth cord(not shown). excellent working condition. measures 6 3/4 x 17 inches.
