c. 1912-20 original antique american industrial single-sided ornamental cast iron spot-welding machine control panel designed and fabricated by or for the the winfield electric welding machine company, warren, oh. the distinctive panel features a prominently displayed and centrally located manufacturer identification in raised lettering. the bottom section contains a pierced grille with a diamond-shaped design motif. the top section contains an indicator panel with an opening that likely was equipped with a moving handle used to increase or decrease the amperage or voltage used while welding. the surround greek fret border provides added visual character. the exact machine from which the panel was removed from is not known. the panel has a brushed bare metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures 14 1/2 x 30 1/2 inches.
