largely intact and all original early 20th century antique american metal wire oddfellows ceremonial costume face mask, likely fabricated by the demoulin bros., co., greenville, il. the eerie metal mesh mask features hand-painted facial features (e.g., mustache, eyes, etc.) applied directly to the wire. the head strap appears original to the mask. a light gauge band of steel is used around the edges to uphold structural integrity. this type of fraternal mask was advertised as being highly desirable during summer months.
