c. 1900's antique american ornamental cast bronze metal interior residential doorknob backplate or escutcheon designed and fabricated by the f.c. linde & co., cresskill, nj. the highly stylized art nouveau passage door backplate contains a dark metallic bronze inlay used to accentuate the casting detail. the surface finish is mostly uniform throughout. the flush mount door plate contains two screw holes, a single skeleton keyhole and protruding thimble. measures approximately 8 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches.
