hard to find late 19th century ornamental cast iron wall-mount shoe shine cabinet designed and fabricated by the huette-barler mfg. co., chicago, il. the hinged front or cover swings down to receive one's shoe (note the notched radial designed heel ring at the foremost portion of the footrest), with an interior chamber that would have been equipped with various shoeshine accessories. the encircled manufacturer markings are accentuated with and elegant sun ray motif. the victorian era cabinet dates to 1891-93. measures 15 x 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches. partially intact timeworn oxidized copper-plated finish.
