largely intact c. 1936 slip glaze ornamental terra cotta roofline terra cotta panel salvaged from the non-extant thomas a. edison school located at calumet avenue and 170th street in hammond, indiana. the "sullivanesque" style section features a repeating pattern consisting primarily of geometric design motifs. the exterior terra cotta panel was fabricated by the northwestern terra cotta company, chicago, il. the school's principal architect was william hutton, with george grant elmslie as lead designer. the clay modeler was fritz albert.typical surface wear and allover crazing evident. measures 17 x 4 x 10 inches.
