highly sought after all original and fully functional adjustable three-legged american industrial steel and wood stationary stool manufactured by the dependable manufacturing co., omaha, nebraska. the "rite-hite" stool was designed and patented (with improvements) by charles vitek in 1926 and 1947. the vintage american industrial stool features a novel and automatically operative means for locking or retaining the three extensible supporting members by lifting the seat to its uppermost position to permit lowering of the seat to its lowermost position so that it can thereafter by raised to the user's desired position and automatically locked. the bent tubular steel footrest is mounted on the seat-supporting members and remains in a fixed position relative to the adjustable positions of the seat. the angled steel outswept legs contain "foot pads" for added stability. the refinished varnished maple wood seat with deeply incised rings exhibits wear consistent with age. the three-legged base contains a brushed metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. base diameter measures at 21 inches. seat diameter measures at 12 1/2 inches. seat height measure at 27 inches, with backrest at 39 inches.
