hard to find all original and highly sought after early 1930's oversized american industrial rolled rim chicago commercial building office waste basket or trash can manufactured by the northwestern expanded metal co., chicago, il. the "factory green" painted paper trash can is structurally sound and stable. the tall and lightweight all-metal waste bin was designed and patented by joseph jantusek on january 30, 1923. the basket is composed of a single section of sheet metal which is "slitted and expanded" to form a uniform diamond mesh. the flared top with rolled rim or hoop is intact. hard to find and highly desirable size. embossed manufacturer markings on the bottom. measures 30 inches high x 16 inches in diameter
