early 20th century antique american industrial refinished cast iron drafting table base designed and fabricated by the eugene dietzgen co., chicago, il. the three-legged stationary table base contains a telescoping tubular steel rod supporting the adjustable components (controlled by the original dial handle) used to support the drawing board. the extension moves up and down with ease. the friction dial located at the midsection is original and intact. manufacturer markings, in the form of embossed lettering, run vertically along the cast iron base. the drafting board base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. height adjusts from 28 inches to 39 inches
