late 19th century ornamental cast bronze interior residential "columbian" pattern stop work vestibule door mortise lock was fabricated by the reading hardware company, reading, pa. the ornamental faceplate is comprised of bronze metal. the two button stops are generally used to make the exterior knob stationary, so accessibility from the outside requires a key. mostly uniform surface patina. intricately detailing. mortise lock measures approximately 6 x 1 x 3 1/2 inches.
