19th century ornamental cast iron intact perforated summer cover and matching surround salvaged from a chicago italianate style rowhouse faced with demolition. the ornamental iron grate or fireplace front was designed and fabricated by william h. jackson & co., new york city, ny. the two-story rowhouse containing the surround and cover, along with original mantels was built in 1874. both the surround and cover are free from breaks or cracks. the old black enameled finish is largely uniform throughout. two matching covers with surrounds available. priced individually. 30 x 31 1/4"
